As European Autobody prepares to relocate their 2,800 sq. m. (30,200 sq. ft.) business in Ontario, it is incorporating an entirely new repair process into the facility—Symach’s FixLine system. The collision repair shop specializes in repairing Ferraris, Maseratis, BMW, Ford and other luxury brands, and plans to move to a larger facility in Etobicoke the first quarter of 2017.

Every collision center, big or small, should look into these products, do their research and see that Symach is a feasible way to be successful” said Manuel De Luca, manager of European Autobody.

After learning about Symach from a colleague, Lorenzo D’ Alessandro of CSN 427 auto collision in Ontario, De Luca spent time researching the FixLine system and watched several YouTube videos about the Italian-based company.

“I was intrigued almost immediately and knew right way this is the future and we had to be part of this,” he said. “We strive to be ahead of the curve, which changes just as fast as it comes, in order to provide our customers and partners the best repair procedures and services available.

European Autobody is part of the Remo Ferri group of automobiles, which includes 13 locations in Ontario. The shop opened in 1983 as Prestige Auto Collision and changed its name in 2000. It is the only factory-authorized repair facility in Canada for Ferrari and Maserati/Alfa Romeo. It is also BMW/MINI factory approved and Ford aluminum factory approved. In addition to purchasing Symach’s body shop equipment, De Luca was interested in the Italian company’s FixLine process to run day-to-day operations in his shop. “It will allow our facility to be successful and to take the next steps in building our business” he said.

By encompassing all aspects of the repair, De Luca said the FixLine process will allow operations to be more efficient, ensure a quicker repair time for customers, and decrease rental costs to insurance partners. He also said the system will help minimize delays of vehicles in the prep and paint department. “We should be able to reduce a typical two-day minimum down to one day” said De Luca.

The shop currently repairs 45 vehicles a week. With the use of Symach’s FixLine system, which includes SPP Symach Paint Process, Drytronic technology and robots, it is expected to increase the number of repairs to 120 repairs per week “The robots drastically reduce drying times of all substances,” said Osvaldo Bergaglio, CEO of Symach. “Our international team will train the staff at European Autobody to help achieve the maximum output of vehicles and ensure they are successful at their new location.

Osvaldo has been amazing throughout the whole process; we had many revisions, and every time he professionally handled us with patience and gratitude,” said De Luca. “I am amazed how efficient he and his team have been.

The shop currently has 28 employees and is owned by Remo Ferri and De Luca’s father, Emilio. “My father raised me to work hard, respect people, value what you earn and always want more not in a monetary way but in a personal way. He also encouraged me to treat people better than you want to be treated, and always respect everyone no matter what their level is in the ‘ladder of life.’

De Luca began working in the shop in 1999 when he was 18 years old and now manages the facility. “We are grateful to be among a group of elite facilities in the industry,” said De Luca. “We strive to be the best that we can be to our clients, partners and employees, and work hard to provide exceptional service. We know we are human and to be perfect is impossible, but to be close to perfect is achievable and we try hard with every single repair.

De Luca said European Autobody is looking forward to incorporating the Symach process and equipment into the shop. “It’s the latest technology on the North American market,” he said. “You only have one chance to do a good job. Make sure you capitalize on those chances!
