Inventory Table: to collect nuts, bolts and small car parts, for an easy and quick accessibility during reassembly phase in the autobody repair shop.

The purpose of the Inventory Table is to create a clear path and an organized, complete, and mapped out set of steps for any hardware needed for the reassembly process of the vehicles.

It uses both a visual color system and a limited work space area within each section of the car to create an organization that makes sense to the next team member who will be working on the vehicle.

Once the vehicle or an area of the vehicle is disassembled to a point where parts and hardware inventory is necessary, the hardware is put into bags marked with the specific color of the area of the car, the folder number and a brief description written, and the bags are put into the colored spaces provided on the table.

If the hardware bags are incomplete and cannot be replenished from the in-house hardware program, they are labeled with a “partial” sticker. An example of the required hardware is displayed on the card with an X indicating the quantity needed. This allows the repair plan writer to order the necessary hardware from the OEM vendor.

Each part is accompanied by a visual key, aiding in the swift identification of the bags needed for the respective process you are engaged in.
